Best Camping Grill Stove Combo – Buyer’s guide

Portability
If you are buying a stove/grill for camping, it has to be portable. It means that it should not be huge or heavy.
Look for a stove/grill that is compact and can be stored easily for your camping trip.
If it has detachable units, storage becomes a lot easier, but in that case, practice to set it up at home so that you don’t find trouble doing it at your camping site when you are hungry.
Some models come with wheels as well for ease of moving the stove/grill around.
Camping Stove/Grill Width
Invest in a stove/grill that is of average width. Space should be enough that you can cook with ease but not so big that carrying them becomes impossible.
Investing in a compact stove/grill does not mean that you should compromise with the efficiency.
If you almost always go alone on trips you can invest in a little smaller stove, however, if you travel with more than one person, buy a stove/grill of modest width.
Number of Burners and Power
It depends on how many people are you going camping with. If you are going alone, a single burner is more than enough.
Double burner, however, means that you can save your time and all your meals get cooked in half time.
If you are going with someone or in a group, then a single burner would not suffice. Carry with yourself a 2 + burner stove and grill.
Since it something you don’t buy every time you go camping, it’s better to get the stove + grill that will be efficient for you in the long run.
Even though the burner power is not completely dependent on BTU, it is an important indicator. The more the BTU, the more is the power of burner and more powerful burner means that it will take less time to cook your food.
However, if the burner is more powerful, it will take more fuel to burn. So, make sure you take extra fuel with you on the trip.
Fuel Type and Capacity
There are various types of fuel that you can use like propane, butane, white gas, kerosene, gasoline, wood, etc.
They have their merits and demerits, so buy a stove/grill that can work on different fuels and is not dependent on anything particular.
Carrying a small can is better for it is lightweight and compact but make sure you take some extra cans.
Again, this depends on if you are going camping alone or with someone. You can adjust the quantity as per requirement.
Carry the fuel as per their performance in the temperature you are setting up camp in.
For example, Propane is a great fuel but is weak for zero and sub-zero temperatures.
Grills and Griddles
Too many options are available in the market when you are looking for a stove-grill combo.
For example- a stove can come with large cooking grate, or large grill along with stove on the side or you can even find removable grill features that can be attached and detached as per your requirement.
There are also options where you can attach a large griddle over the burner and make steak while camping outside.
Auto Ignition/ Piezo Igniters
The most upsetting moment while you are camping would be if you have everything and are ready to cook but cannot find the lighter or matches.
Not everyone knows how to rub stones to create sparks. And even those who know, for them it can get a little tiresome.
Auto-ignition means that the stove/grill has a push-button pressure based ignition mechanism.
It is easy to use, safe, and prevents you from the frustration of always remembering to carry a lighter or matchbox. It can add to the cost but this feature is worth investing in.
Weatherproof
There is nothing more fickle than the weather. One moment it can be sunny and calm, the next moment the wind picks up and you can see the clouds rolling in.
A stove/grill should not be made of a material that does not rust easily and does not need repair every time it gets wet in the rain.
The flame might shift or douse in a windy climate unless you find a place that would break the wind.
Various stoves come with a windshield to protect the flame from the soft wind so that you don’t have to look for protection every time the wind speeds up.

Coleman Burner grill Stove combo has been an experience in itself and an amazing one at that. With the windshield that it came with, it was hardly a task to cook food while the wind was blowing.

Our Opinion
If you have a taste for Korean bbq, this camping stove bbq grill would be a perfect addition to your camping gear.
This has a non-stick Teflon coating, so you have to take care while you are cleaning. Do not use a hard scrub to clean as that will leave scratched and the coating will start peeling off.
In fact, you do not need a hard scrub, as even a wet soft scrub would remove the left-out grease from the surface and since the food does not stick to the surface, there is hardly any mess left to clean.
On a low setting, there would not be much smoke, but if you are cooking in a confined space, the area would get smoked up. So, make sure there is enough ventilation or exhaust system to avoid this scenario.
Apart from these hindrances, the stovetop grill is quite easy to use. The heat distribution is great on the grill pan making it easy for the food to be cooked evenly.
The swirl channel on the pan drains the grease slowly, so the food has added flavor.
The electronic auto-ignition means you don’t have to keep a match or lighter handy every time you go out for camping.

Our Opinion
The outfitter series outdoor grill and stove combo is sturdy and portable. It is a great cookware for the outdoors.
It has 3 burners, of which 2 are over-sized. So, cooking does not take a lot of time when using these controllable burners.
I liked the rotating knob switch for ignition better than the push button as whenever the push button was used, the stove would move back as well. That becomes frustrating if the burner turns off while you are cooking, you have to remove the pan and hold the stove to ignite it again. But that can be forgiven and forgotten because of other great features it comes with.
It has a drip pan which makes it super easy to clean and does not leave a mess on the surface. The resilient steel frame keeps the flame burning steadily even when the wind is blowing.
It is quite stylish with metal latches on the lid to keep it closed and protected when not in use. So, if this is your choice, I would say, go for it.

Our Opinion
The camping grill and stove combo are super cute and easy to set up. It comes with detachable legs so the height can be adjusted as per requirement.
However, it works better if you put it on some kind of elevated platform. This makes it more comfortable to cook on.
The best thing about this is that you don’t have to wait for the egg to cook before you can use the grill. They can be used together and hence, reducing the total cook time.
The wind block shields prevent the flame from blowing out when the wind blows. So, you can enjoy the weather and cook at the same time.
This is a perfect combo for outdoor camping as the collapsible design makes it perfectly portable.
Since the adapter it comes with works only with 1 lb propane canister, you might need to keep backup fuel or buy another adapter that works with other canisters as well.
Since the legs were a bit wobbly, we had to secure the stand between flat bricks.
What We Like
- It has a heavy-duty grill box
- The cast iron grill grates are durable
- The collapsible design of the stove comes with a carrying handle
- It has windshield panels
- The grill panel and the tray that collects grease can be removed and are dishwasher safe

Technical Specifications

Weight | 3.5 Pounds |
Cooking Power | 6000 BTU |
Our Opinion
Eureka! Gonzo Grill 3-in-1 Camping Stove is sturdy and durable cookware.
It can be used as a stove, grill, or griddle, just one at a time. It only has one burner so it takes time to finish the cooking.
The burner power is also low compared to others. But if the cooking time is taken out of consideration, the burners are easily controllable and the heat distribution is even, so you don’t have to worry about a partially cooked meal.
However, the grill is made of iron, so it is heavy and carrying it to the camping sites especially if the terrain is rough can be a little hectic. If you are using a vehicle to reach your campsite, then even this downside can be over-looked. It is flexible and compact so, can be stowed away easily.
The best feature in this camping stove grill combo is that it is expandable. You can power multiple Eureka! grills or stoves from a single propane fuel source with the JetLink accessory port. The vented lids keep your cooked meal from drying out and protects the heat from escaping.
What We Like
- The cast iron grill is sturdy and durable
- Consistent cooking as heat distribution is even
- The removable pan and safe-drip tray is easy to clean and dishwasher safe
- It can be used as a grill, griddle, or stove

Technical Specifications
Dimensions | 23.9 x 12.3 x 7.7 inches |
Weight | 8 pounds |
Cooking Power | 6000 BTU |
Our Opinion
If you don’t mind a little mess while cooking, you can definitely go for this stove grill combo.
The side panels shield burners from wind, can be adjusted to fit larger pans, and fold down for use as side tables when the weather is calm.
A push-button ignition is a great option if you don’t like the headache of remembering the task of carrying lighter or matches with you. What I don’t like about the push-button feature is that there is a possibility of the stove getting pushed back, especially if the flames die out in the middle of cooking.
The heat distribution is consistent and does not take too long to cook but you have to always keep an eye as the grease tray is a little small and you might need to empty it before a huge greasy mess is created.
The burners are adjustable and so the heat can be controlled as per your liking and the interchangeable cooktops let you attach a grill or griddle over the stove to enhance efficiency.
What We Like
- The burners are adjustable
- The grease tray is removable
- The wind block system prevents flame from blowing out in the wind
- Foldable side panels let you adjust larger pans
- Simultaneous cook and grill system
- Interchangeable cooktops
- Enough surface to make cooking easy
What We Don’t Like
- The grease tray is small
- It is a little messy
- The push-button ignition

Final Verdict
While testing all the stoves grill combos, we were more inclined towards the Coleman 2 Burner Grill Stove Combo and TECHEF – Stovetop Korean BBQ Non-Stick Grill Pan with Agni Portable Gas Stove Burner.
Coleman Burner grill Stove combo comes with many features and a favorite among others. The windshield prevents the flame from blowing out and letting you cook in a slight wind. It is affordable and yet quite sturdy. The feet can be attached temporarily or permanently as per your need letting you put a shallow dish beneath to collect the fat drain. So it is mess-free, lightweight, and portable with a carrying handle, i.e., perfect for camping excursions.
You can also try the Techef-Stovetop which in our opinion was great for outdoor bbq. If taken care of properly, it will last for a long time before you have to even think of replacing it. The non-stick and unique spiral feature of the pan lets the fat drain out slowly and gives the food a better flavor. It also makes it easy to clean and leaves no mess behind. So if you are a fan of bbq, then go for a Korean BBQ grill pan and stove. You would not regret the choice.
