Size
Comfort is essential. You want to get a hammock that is a perfect fit for you. Since there are various size ranges available in the market, you have options, so don’t make haste.
Find the one camping hammock with bug nets that will make you comfortable enough to sleep like a baby in it.
Weight Capacity
Nobody wants their sleep disturbed, mainly because the hammock was too weak to hold their weight. Make sure you purchase a hammock with stable suspensions so that they can keep your weight.
Make sure you get the one that will hold slightly more than your weight, just if you have a kid who wants to play jump in your hammock or a very energetic pet.
There are many factors to keep in mind when considering the weight capacity of the hammock you are thinking of investing in.
Material
A durable camping hammock is a quick-dry and all-weather resistant.
Since no one wants to purchase a different camping hammock every time you go to a different camping location, research the material.
Make sure it is easy and quick to dry, does not tear easily, comes with a mosquito net that has smaller holes to protect you against the smallest of the bugs, will be adjustable enough to keep you warm during a cold night and vice-versa.
So, think of purchasing a durable camping hammock with mosquito net and rainfly.
Storage and Contents
Before you click on the Buy button, make a quick review of the items included with the hammock.
At times, the seller does not provide suspension, rope, carabiners, spare parts, straps, mosquito net, rain tarp, etc. Don’t forget to check that everything you might require to install a hammock is included.
Also, check if they come with storage pockets to keep necessary items while you sleep in the hammock.
Suspensions
Ensure that the suspensions you are getting with the hammock are strong enough to hold your weight. You can never be too careful as you trust yourself with the hammock while you sleep at night.
Check their stability every time you install your hammock for the night and keep a new suspension and ropes with you every time you set out to camp.
Mosquito netting
It doesn’t matter where you are going camping and if there will be mosquitoes or not. These nets protect you from all kinds of insects that fly or crawl, big or small. So, it’s an important feature that your hammock should come with.
You don’t want to be swatting the insects whole night instead of having a dream full of sweet dreams.
Make sure you find out the kind of material (nylon or polyester) used to make the mesh, how fine it is, and if it is attached to the hammock or detachable.
It is essential to know that so if in case it is removable, you would know how to fix it on your hammock and what all you would require to get it fixed.
Look for the mosquito net that the hammock comes with before setting your mind on a particular product.

The zipper also works smoothly; however, there was some extra fabric on the side of the seam of the mosquito net, which got caught in the zipper. Since the zipper is very fluid and smooth, it was easy to get it unstuck, and later we cut the extra material off.
After having it tested before we took it for camping, we could trust the Product with our weights hanging at a height.
Even the mosquito netting was quite dense and worked very well. I’m not too fond of bugs, and the fear would usually keep me up at night, but I had no trouble sleeping in this hammock with netting protection it provided.

The hammock is big enough to hold you easily without the fear of falling unless there is a tear in the nylon. So before you lie down in the hammock, make sure you have adequately checked the seams, stitches, and the material for any cuts and tears. Better safe than sorry.
It is quite compact and has an attached sack where you can stuff the hammock when packing. It also has two storage pockets, which were a great addition as there is a chance of misplacing personal and essential things while on a trip.
It is quite comfortable and would not make you feel claustrophobic inside the bug net. And in case you don’t think the bug net is required, you can just flip over the hammock and use it regularly like.
Even though the possibility of a mosquito biting through the hammock is minimal, you must carry a bug repellent for just in case scenario.

Since it is large enough, you can carry extra blankets and put them at the bottom to prevent yourself from the cold.

Our Opinion
It was one of the best camping hammocks with mosquito net and rainfly that we tested. Since it is compact, durable, and sturdy, it is excellent for camping, backpacking, and various other expeditions.
It has two entries: entrance through the bottom that snaps close automatically under the weight of your body and seals with Velcro and a side entrance with a full-length heavy-duty zipper and two double sliders. So, it is easy to trick mosquitoes when you want to enter the hammock.
However, you must check the insides thoroughly before you decide to relax for the night. Though when using the bottom entrance, it is hard to take your shoes off, especially during the night.
It comes with one more fantastic feature, and the mesh can be held open with an elastic so you can watch the stars on clear without looking out for the bugs.
If you get a bottom sleeping pad along with the hammock, you would not have to worry about mosquitoes biting through the bottom, the heat escaping, and getting a flat surface to sleep on. But that can be quickly done by spreading a blanket at the bottom.
It has a gear pocket slides on the ridgeline behind your head and two glove hooks that are also threaded on the ridgeline. It is comfortable, stable, and easy to set up. But for it to be easy, make sure you practice setting up before leaving for the trip.

The material used is excellent, and the stitching seams are good. It’s quite comfortable and spacious enough to put a blanket or quilt at the bottom and still be able to sleep peacefully. The netting is large, dense, and robust.
The suspension system and the tree straps are sturdy. The tarp’s size is perfect for this hammock, and it is also double stitched, so it gives excellent coverage and handles the wind gusts well.
The stakes could not hold up in anything but fry ground, so that was an issue for us, so we got ourselves some extra sturdy stakes. Be sure to check that before you set out to go camping.
Also, make sure to practice setting it up and folding before you go for your real adventure to get used to it and won’t have trouble when out in the wild. These do not come with an instruction manual, so practice is the better option.

Our Opinion
It is quick and easy to set up. It was great for our backpacking trip since its lightweight and compact. The net works excellent and does not let any bugs or crawlies get into your hammock so you can sleep through the night or gaze at the stars without the constant buzzing noise.
The zipper is also of exceptional quality and does not wear and tear as quickly as it would look. The material is thin but quite sturdy so that the mosquitoes can bite through it. You can add a sleeping pad or a blanket to add a little bit of layer to prevent that from happening.
It also comes with a Ridgeline, which is not very thick but supports the bug net just fine. And there is a small pocket on the inside where you can keep the essentials for the night. However, if you are going during a rainy season, you might need to carry a rain tarp with you.

- It is tightly woven and quite sturdy
- The material is thin and lightweight
- It is excellent for backpacking and travel

Weight | 1.8 Kilograms |
Weight Capacity | 700 Pounds |
Our Opinion
The Product was in itself quite great with all its storage pockets and hanging hooks on the inside. It would have been preferable if the hooks were on the outside, though. But they were useful on the inside too.
The material is quite durable and sturdy so that you don’t have to go to sleep in fear of falling down during the night. It is compact, so perfect for backpacking gear.
Te best thing about this is that the net is removable. Putting it might be a little cumbersome; however, there are times when you want to use the hammock without the bug net.
The tarp is light but works both as a sunshade and a rainfly. The setup is effortless, especially with the daisy chain suspension system, which is sturdy and easy to loop around a tree. The aluminum carabiners are light in weight but large enough to be effective.
The taffeta fabric is sturdy, soft and pliable, also, breathable. But that might prove a little disadvantageous to you if you don’t put a sleeping pad at the bottom to make it flat. It might fold otherwise, making it a little suffocating. But if you have that, it becomes quite spacious and will not feel even a little claustrophobic.

Technical Specifications

Our Opinion
This hammock did not weigh much and came in a beautiful ripstop carry bag. Set up is quite easy, and the hammock is very spacious and comfortable. The straps are very sturdy and don’t harm the trees, and the hammock is made of nylon and seems to be very sturdy.
The base fabric is quite thin, so it might tear with even a small rip if not taken care of. It has not happened yet, and we have been using it for some time now for our various trips. Also, it is triple stitched and holds up nicely.
The bug net is sewed onto the hammock and is supported by aluminum poles. The bug net is made from polyester and is a fine mesh that even the smallest insects will not get through.
The rainfly is made of ripstop material and is double stitched and sealed at the seams and does a great job keeping you dry.
You would need a quilt or a sleeping pad to stay warm. Other than that, it is quite a great choice. The tie-downs are also an excellent idea to prevent the hammock from flipping when nothing is in there.
What We Like

- Comes with storage bag
- The supporting aluminum makes the hammock spacious
- Large rain tarp
- Sturdy mesh

Technical Specifications

Material | Nylon |
Weight | 1.76 pounds |
Weight Capacity | 700 Pounds |
Our Opinion
The hammock is exceptionally lightweight, but it holds the weight just fine. It is not stretchy, and so it did not sag and stayed taut. It is easy to set-up and put away. Its quality is of premium level.
The zipper, however, was a little problematic, but not so much that it caused inconvenience. The bag it comes in is actually attached to the hammock. The ropes are also connected to the carabiners; thus, you can’t unwind them, but that is not a bad thing, as, at the end of the day, it minimizes our task. The hammock is very comfortable.
The net provides shade as well as bug protection, so that is a 2 in one feature. The support rings took some time and adjustment, but after you have a hang of it, the process becomes fluid, and you start enjoying your time in the hammock.
What We Like
- Reversible: Can be used as a regular hammock.

Weight Capacity | 772 Pounds |
Our Opinion
After using so many hammocks where the bag was attached to the hammock, that became my preference. But that is a personal choice and may not be an issue for you.
But the Product itself is quite amazing. The bug net has a fine mesh, which means small holes and minimal chances of bugs getting in unless there is a tear in the net you might not have noticed.
It also has a storage bag on the inside which is small but can keep a cellphone and other small items in it. The built-in cord keeps the net out of your face, and the zipper has also worked perfectly well. It is lightweight and easy to set-up.
The tree straps it came with were not sturdy, and so you might need to purchase better straps from the market before you set out to camp.
Since it does not come with a rainfly, you might need to carry your own rain tarp if you are thinking of investing in this hammock.
What We Like
- The bug net has a fine mesh
- It is not stuffy
- The ripstop nylon material is soft, smooth, and breathable
- A good bug net keeps out all kinds of bugs on the outside
- Fabric is nice and soft, yet sturdy
- It is spacious

- The straps are not of excellent quality
- The bag it comes with is not attached to the hammock
- Does not come with a rainfly
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Final Verdict
It is said that if you take care of your things, they will take care of you, which is basically correct. Hammocks are made of cloth, and they can wear and tear, especially the mosquito net. How long they last depend on how well we take care of them.
That said, we must also buy quality hammocks with bug nets because if they are of cheap quality, no matter how you take care of them, they will tear under pressure, and you might fall.
Keeping that in mind, we tested many hammocks. Through some, we dropped down, but a few let us sleep through many long nights. Our favorites were Sunyear Single & Double Camping Hammock with Mosquito/Bug Net and Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro Mosquito Hammock.
Sunyear Camping Hammock was very compact and lightweight. Hammocks with bug nets are great for camping outside as they protect you from bugs and crawlies. The hammock came in an elegant pouch with all its installation tools. It is an ideal hammock if you want to go on solo adventures, hiking, backpacking, travel, camping, emergency. It is quite sophisticated, and the attachments it comes with are sturdy and durable. The mesh that they have used is soft and of premium quality. You can sleep without worry about getting bitten by any kind of bug during the night.
Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter is big enough to hold you easily without the fear of falling unless there is a tear in the nylon. It is quite compact and has an attached sack where you can stuff the hammock when packing. It also storage pockets and is quite comfortable and would not make you feel claustrophobic inside the bug net. These are reversible, so if you don’t think the bug net is required, you can flip over the hammock and use it regularly. The only issue was that it does not come with a rain fly, so you would need to invest in a good rain tarp and the hammock.
If you are going to a warm or humid area, especially into the wild, a hammock with mosquito netting is your best choice. It will keep you off the ground and the bugs that you will most assuredly find in this kind of climate, away while you sleep. Keep in mind the tips and tricks, and you shall be good to go with the hammock and bug net set you prefer the most.
